A Bluesky response

This post wasn't intended but was written as a reaction to this news article posted on Bluesky. The article basically points out we are in a post truth society and this was my response:
This isn't really news, we've been in a postmodern society for decades, that's how religious groups have been living alongside each other. Its also how different moral systems have been able to grow next to each other without coming into conflict.
Post truth society was around before Trump, arguably back to Nazi times where people 'knew' about the concentration camps but didn't 'know'. And for that matter soldiers coming back from the war were often changed and experienced the world differently.
In truth many people don't see the world the same way either due to what they have learnt, or what they have experienced, and that has always been true whether or not it has been acknowledged.
It isn't about turning back the clock to a time where everyone agreed on what the world was as that world was never there. Its about finding new ways to fight those who pervert the truth and use it to manipulate and harm others.
